Bullying at School: What We Know and What We Can Do presents the results of Dr. Dan Olweus's pioneering research on bullying in schools, based on large-scale studies in Scandinavia conducted in the 1970s and 80s. It clearly defines what bullying is, outlines the characteristics of children who bully and those who are victimized, and examines the short- and long-term consequences for both groups. Olweus introduces the first comprehensive, evidence-based bullying prevention program that is still used to this day. The book emphasizes the importance of adult intervention and outlines a whole-school approach that has since influenced anti-bullying efforts around the world.
