  • Kelly Archer, M.A., RCC | Beacon Psychology

    Kelly is a clinical counsellor with over 13 years of experience working in the social services field with children, youth and young adults within outreach, community, school, and clinical settings. Kelly Archer, RCC ( pronouns: she/her/hers) Kelly is a clinical counsellor with over 15 years of experience working in the social services field with children, youth, adults, and families in outreach, community, school, and clinical settings. She is an energetic and engaged therapist with a strong passion for supporting people in improving their mental health and overall well-being. Kelly provides individual counselling for young people with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, disordered eating, and identity exploration. In addition to individual counselling, she also specializes in providing counselling to transition age youth & young adults (e.g. ages 17-30) and working with parents. She provides parent consultations for families with children of all ages, helping caregivers navigate behavioural, emotional, and relational challenges. She also has a particular interest in supporting mothers through the transitions of parenthood, including perinatal mental health. Kelly recognizes that starting counselling can feel intimidating, especially for those who may have had a negative experience in the past. Kelly prioritizes building a strong & trusting therapeutic relationship and creates a welcoming space where clients feel supported, empowered, and understood. CERTIFICATION Kelly completed her Bachelor of Arts at UBC Okanagan and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC#11907) and Approved Clinical Supervisor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Kelly has received training in providing Standard, Trauma, and Eating Disorder-focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Motivation Enhancement Therapy (MI), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE Program). Kelly also has advanced training and experience in supporting clients with Perinatal Mental Health. Additionally, she is a registered counsellor with the Crime Victims Assistance Program (CVAP).     Marissa is a Ph.D. student in the School and Applied Child Psychology program (SACP) at UBC. She has extensive experience conducting complex psychological assessments and interventions. She currently is doing an advanced practicum at Beacon Psychology. Marissa Hall ( pronouns: she/her/hers) Marissa is in her fourth year as a Ph.D. candidate in the School and Applied Child Psychology program at UBC. She has gained a wealth of experience providing psychological assessments and support for children, youth, and their families. Marissa helps with social-emotional and behavioural challenges, as well as neurodevelopmental differences. She is a PEERS® Certified Provider and offers evidence-based social skills training for teens and their families. Marissa has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, private practice, and community spaces, and regularly collaborates with parents, teachers, and other mental health professionals to support children’s well-being. Marissa is passionate about helping her clients make real and meaningful changes in their lives. She believes that a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment is essential for children and families to feel comfortable, recognize their strengths, and work toward their goals. Marissa’s doctoral research explores how challenges with self-regulation can affect young children's social-emotional development and success at school.
